Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 (ESV)
When do we most need to draw near the throne of grace? The verse answers this for the ready … in times of need. When am I most in need? John Bunyan, in his book titled Prayer, lays out 10 instances where we often find ourselves in need:
When we are young in the faith.
During times of spiritual prosperity.
When we are worldly.
The day of persecution.
A change in condition.
When we keep counsel with fools.
When guilt is contracted.
The day of reproach and slander.
When friends desert and forsake.
The day of death.
These can be situations when we need to receive mercy and find grace the most. Which one(s) resonate most with you?
