Web Slinging 9.1.15

Here's what I've been encouraged by as I've swung around the web: Corby Stephens wrote a post reminding believers it's not "What would Jesus do?" but "What did Jesus do?" This is an important distinction, taking the focus off our work and placing it on Christ's work. Unfortunately, our selfishness often try to obscure Christ's work.

Tim Challies wrote a post how risky love is. He says, "In one way or another, at one time or another, we have all suffered because we have loved." This is true because we are sinners attempting to love and serve sinners. Read this post to be reminded why it's worth it.

Jim Fowler wrote a post on taking sermon notes. He says, "While there is a potential danger in note taking, it more has to do with how the person takes notes, not the act itself." I am a note taker, it helps me remember and internalize what God is teaching through the pastor.

Ryan Huguley wrote a post on friends and ministry. He says, "If you do the work of ministry with friends it will be hard, but it will also be more fulfilling, more rich and more meaningful." This is the situation I'm in as well and I've found what Ryan says is true.
