Here's what I've been reading as I've swung around the web: Church Leaders had a great post on motivation and what kills it. It reads, "Momentum is often a product of motivation." This post goes on to list several things that can kill motivation. If you are in church leadership, this a good list to keep in mind, especially when you are feeling unmotivated.
Jared Wilson wrote a post on fear and trembling. He writes, "As it pertains to having the living God draw near to us, fear and trembling assume it is truly God and the glorious Christ we have encountered and not some pitiful caricature." If you're a believer, read and understand why fear and trembling are important.
Darrin Patrick wrote a post on the topic of courage and how to fuel it. It reads, "So, unlike the fear of man, the fear of God is about a reasonable and healthy respect for God’s power." When we fear God more than man, we find courage.
Brad Watson had a post on understanding who Jesus really is and not who we make Him out to be. He writes, "Journeying through life proved my Jesus wasn’t enough for me or the world I inhabit. The Jesus I had fashioned was too small." We need to read and experience Jesus as He's declared to be, not what we think we want Him to be.
