This is my weekly post of things I've found helpful as I've swung around the web. Redeemer Fellowship's elder candidate Jim Fowler started a series of posts on mentorship and isolation. He says, "Sadly, many neglect mentorship and die a slow spiritual death by isolation." He goes on to list reasons why this can be true. Pastor and leaders; are you mentoring? Are you being mentored?
Ed Stetzer had a post (... actually a repost) about combatting Bible illiteracy. He says, "Christians claim to believe the Bible is God's Word. We claim it's God's divinely inspired, inerrant message to us. Yet despite this, we aren't reading it." He goes on to describe how to change that.
Tim Brister had a post on post-christendom. He wrote, "The posture in Post-Christendom is to enter in culture in ordinary ways by ordinary people and demonstrate the extraordinary love of God by laying our lives down for the sake of the gospel." This a great post and well worth your time.
