Here's what I found as I swung around the web. I found these when I had downtime last week (mostly during layovers to and from Japan). Jeremy Pierre had a post on the Crossway blog on link between pastoral counseling and heartache. It reads, "Walking with people in the complications of their lives will increase your heartache. There’s no use pretending otherwise." Pastors take time to consider these wise words.
Nathan Rose has a post on the For the Church blog on the dangers of skipping church. He describes the practice of missing church as, "... spiritually dangerous ..." and then goes on to explain why. If you're struggling with church, be informed.
Tim Challies had a post on prayer and how it's work. He recommends what John Bunyan recommends, "Pray often, for prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge to Satan.” Prayer is a muscle that must be used in order to be effective.
