Change & What I'm Up to Now

When I started this blog in 2010, my goal was to be a help and a resource in the areas of Children's, Youth, and Family Ministries. I was hired part time at Redeemer Fellowship at that time to oversee those areas of ministry, and desired to add my voice to those who were already blogging about reaching future generations. Then in 2013 I went from part time to full time. As my role changed so did responsibilities. I added to my plate the aspects of community and discipleship. While they all relate to the smaller gatherings of the church, it all takes more time.

If you're a regular reader of my blog, (... and I thank the 10 you faithful followers, seriously "Thank You") you've noticed that the content has somewhat changed in the last month or so. It a lot more discipleship and leadership oriented. You may be wondering where all Children's and Family ministry stuff has gone. Here's the story.

Late spring/ early summer of this year Jared Kennedy, Pastor of Families at Sojourn Community Church in Louisville, Ky. approached myself and Jeff Hutchings, Pastor of Family Ministries about starting a Family Ministry blog. We've been friends for years now and grown a deep friendship. As we kicked it around and got more excited about the idea and decided to go for it. All the while I was thinking about this blog. Would I have time for both? Would I need both? At the end of some time in prayer and getting counsel from others I decided to keep going here but with a different focus.

All this to say, if you are looking for Children's, Youth, and/or Family ministry content, I'm putting all that stuff on the new blog gospelcenteredfamily.com. This blog will continue, but have more discipleship/leadership slant to it.

Thanks again for being part of this journey.
