Relationship Conflict & How We Respond

When conflict happens within a relationship, how do you respond? According to Winston T. Smith, in his book Marriage Matters, it's in one of three ways:"toward", "away", or "against" others. (pg. 210) As we do this, we are either loving the other person, or giving into some desire or fear. Seeing our tendencies will help us fight against them, overcome them, and thereby grow in deeper relationship with the one we are having conflict with. If we aren't moving towards, then we aren't interested in restoration and reconciliation.
