Yes, I'm still reading Matt Chandler's book the Explicit Gospel (don't judge me). Here's a quote near the end that I found helpful.
... unless the gospel is made explicit, unless we clearly articulate that our righteousness is imputed to us by Jesus Christ, that on the cross he absorbed the wrath of God aimed at us and washed us clean - even if we preach biblical words on obeying God - people will believe that Jesus's message is that he has come to condemn the world, not to save it. (pg. 208)
Whether in preaching or evangelism we need to be clear with our presentation of the gospel. The gospel deals with our biggest problem, sin. If we aren't clear, we create confusion.
