Why I Moved My Blog

If you haven't been here already, "WELCOME!"  This is the new address and look for my blog.  Some of you may be asking why I moved (and even more importantly why would I actually pay for something I could get for free).  There are at least 3 reasons:

I need to be writing.

Maybe a better way to state that is I need to be writing more.  I think I (like most others) learn better when I write.  It helps to clarify thoughts.  It also helps me to process the information for later use (whether personally, or in teaching situations).

I also need to be writing to improve my skill and style. The only way I'm going to get better at it, is to keep doing it.

Learning happens (for me) best, when done together

I think it was Craig Jutila who I heard it from first, "All of us are smarter than one of us."  By writing, I'm able to both get and give help.  Through this process, everyone wins.

This is part of being in community.  We are in this together.  Let's work together for mutual encouragement and growth.

If I'm paying for it, I'm more likely to do it.

I know this sounds like I'm trying to get myself to do something I don't want to do; but I do like to write, and I do like to learn.  When I was blogging for free, it was really easy to not do it.  Now, there is extra incentive.

I hope this clarifies things.  Feel free to leave a comment about why you do or don't blog.
